When we think of quintessential British cars, the Morris Minor comes to mind quicker than many others. It’s loved by a loyal fan base and has a reputation for being held on to for many years. Oh, and the millionth one off the production line has just been auctioned for a staggering £25,760.

There was a massive amount of interest in the car that, although officially one of 349 ‘millionth’ Morris Minors produced, was the only one to boast the million mark on its chassis.

Stewart Banks from Historics said that it could have gone from anything between £15,000 and £40,000 depending on the level of interest. Many cars that age wouldn’t have raised an eyebrow, so uniqueness is—as in business—a pretty valuable trait, it seems.

Do you want to be the ‘millionth’ Morris Minor of your industry? Do you want your brand to make an impact, and be known for all the right reasons? If so, how are you going to stand out from the crowd?

When it comes to the Morris Minor, its value is in the eye of the buyer. At auction, the only thing that mattered in the end was that the buyer was willing to pay what they felt it was worth.

Have a think about how you can make your product or service memorable and set yourself apart from the also-rans.
